Data controller
Paul CHATELIER, sole proprietor, 1285 ancienne route de Chatte, 38160 Chatte, France (SIREN 881 220 560). Contact for any question about your data:[email protected].
Playing without an account
Classic mode can be played without an account. Your records and settings (sound, visual effects) stay in your browser (local storage) and are not sent to Pricedle.
Data processed and purposes
Your account
- Data: email address, username, password (never in plain text: only its scrypt hash is kept), photo and bio if you add them. If you sign in with Google or Discord: that account's ID and associated email.
- Purpose: creating and managing your account, signing you in, showing your public profile.
- Legal basis: performance of the contract (terms of use).
Game, points and leaderboard
- Data: daily challenge results, duels (opponent, score), link challenges, points, stats. Your username, photo, points and stats appear publicly on the leaderboard and on your profile. Your email is never shown.
- Purpose: running the game, the leaderboard, limits (challenges per day, duels per hour) and anti-cheating.
- Legal basis: performance of the contract.
Premium subscription
- Data: Stripe customer ID, subscription status and end date. Payment is handled directly by Stripe: Pricedle never sees or stores your payment details.
- Purpose: managing the subscription, billing and your requests (cancellation, withdrawal, refund).
- Legal basis: performance of the contract and legal obligations (accounting).
Security
- Data: IP address, used temporarily in memory to limit abuse (repeated account creation and sign-in attempts). It is not stored in the database.
- Legal basis: the publisher's legitimate interest in protecting the site and accounts.
Cookies and trackers
- Session cookie (pricedle_session): keeps you signed in. It is essential to the service and does not require consent.
- Google AdSense ads: an ad may be shown while you look for a duel opponent. Premium accounts see no ads. Google's code is also loaded on the home page. Google may use cookies and identifiers to serve and measure ads, and to personalize them if you consent. You make this choice in the consent window shown on your first visit and can change it at any time. Learn more:how Google uses data.
- Google ad measurement (Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Google Ads): on the website, Pricedle tells Google when a visit from one of its ads leads to an account being created or a Premium subscription, to learn which ads are useful. Google cookies are only set with your consent, given in the same consent window; without consent, Google only receives signals with no cookie or identifier. Use the "Manage cookies" link at the bottom of every page to change your mind. Kept for 13 months at most.
- Audience measurement: Pricedle counts its own visits, without cookies or third-party tools (page viewed, referring site or link, device type). A visitor is counted using a fingerprint that changes every day and cannot be used to recognize them from one day to the next or to recover their IP address, which is not stored. If you arrive through a campaign link (ad, social media post), its source is kept for 30 days in your browser and, if you create an account, attached to that account. These stats are kept for 13 months at most.
Recipients
Your data is never sold or rented. It is processed by the publisher and, for their part, by its service providers:
- Stripe Payments Europe, Limited (Ireland): subscription payments (Stripe's policy);
- Google Ireland Limited (Ireland): AdSense advertising and ad measurement (Tag Manager, Analytics, Ads);
- Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, Paris, France): sending the password reset email, only when you ask for it;
- Cloudflare, Inc. (USA): routing and protecting the site's traffic;
- Google and Discord: only if you choose to sign in with those accounts.
Account data is stored on the publisher's server, in France. Some providers may transfer data outside the European Union (notably to the United States). These transfers are covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
Retention periods
- Account, scores and points: as long as the account exists. They are erased immediately when the account is deleted.
- Sign-in session: 30 days at most, or until you sign out.
- Billing data (subscription, payments): 10 years, as required by the French Commercial Code. It is kept by Stripe and, for reference, by the publisher.
- Link challenges: 30 days after creation.
- Visit stats: 13 months.
- Password reset link: 1 hour, then deleted (and as soon as it is used).
Android app
The Pricedle Android app shows this website in Chrome: it processes the same data, under the same terms, and asks for no special permission on your phone (no location, contacts or photos). It shows no ads and offers no purchase.
Delete your account
From the website or the app: sign in, open “My account”, then “Delete account”. The account and all its data (profile, scores, history) are erased immediately and permanently. Without access to the app or to the account, ask for deletion by email at [email protected] from the account's address: it is done within 30 days. Invoices of a Premium subscription are kept for 10 years (legal obligation); nothing else is kept.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to and port your data. You can also set instructions for what happens to it after your death. Most of these rights can be exercised directly from the “My account” page: editing your profile, deleting your account and all its data. For anything else, write to [email protected]. You will receive a reply within one month.
If you believe your rights are not being respected, you can file a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL, 3 place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07, France (cnil.fr), or with the data protection authority of your country.
Minors
Anyone under 15 must have a parent's or guardian's consent to create an account. Subscribing to Premium is reserved for adults or minors authorized by their legal guardian.
