Terms of use and sale

This English version is a translation provided for convenience. In case of any discrepancy, the French version prevails.

1. Purpose and acceptance

These terms govern the use of the Pricedle website (https://pricedle.com) and the sale of the Pricedle Premium subscription. The site and the subscription are provided by Paul CHATELIER, sole proprietor, 1285 ancienne route de Chatte, 38160 Chatte, France, France, SIREN 881 220 560 (the “publisher”). Contact:[email protected].

Using the site means accepting sections 1 to 5 and 13 to 15. Subscribing to Premium requires accepting all of these terms, by ticking the box provided before payment.

2. The game

Pricedle is a free game: guess whether an item is worth more or less than another. Classic mode can be played without an account. The daily challenge, duels and the leaderboard require a free account.

Prices are indicative and for entertainment only, based on the sources cited on the About page, and converted to US dollars. They may contain errors and are not an offer, a valuation or investment advice.

3. Account

Your account is personal. You agree to provide a valid email address and to keep your password confidential. Anyone under 15 must have a parent's or guardian's consent to create an account.

Your username, photo and profile bio are public. They must not contain any illegal, abusive, hateful, discriminatory or sexual content, or content that infringes the rights of others.

You can delete your account at any time from the “My account” page. Deletion erases your profile, scores and points.

4. Points, leaderboard and game rules

Points are awarded in the daily challenge and in duels against other players, according to the scoring shown on the Leaderboard page. Classic mode and duels against the bot don't earn points. Points have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged, transferred or refunded. Every month, the top players of the season win a gift card, under the conditions of the season rules (free entry, no purchase necessary, prizes for residents of France and the European Union only).

The following are prohibited: using automated programs, exploiting bugs, colluding between accounts to earn points, and creating multiple accounts to get around limits. In case of a breach, the publisher may remove the points concerned, suspend or delete the account, after informing the player by email where possible.

Without a subscription, an account can play 1 daily challenge a day and 10 duels an hour against other players. Duels against the bot are unlimited.

5. Availability and liability

The publisher strives to keep the site available at all times but cannot guarantee it: maintenance, outages, data updates or external causes may interrupt it. The game's content (themes, items, prices, rules, scoring) may change. The publisher cannot be held liable for indirect damage, or for any decision made based on the prices shown.

6. The Premium subscription

Premium is an optional subscription that gives you, while it is active:

Premium gives no advantage in how points are calculated: a challenge earns every player the same number of points for the same result.

7. Price

Premium costs €3.59 / month, billed in euros (your bank may apply its own currency conversion fees). VAT is not applicable (article 293 B of the French tax code): the price shown is the total price, with no additional fees from the publisher. The publisher may change this price. An increase is announced by email at least 30 days in advance and only applies from the next period. You can cancel before it takes effect.

8. Subscription and payment

You subscribe from the Premium page, with a Pricedle account. The steps are:

  1. you accept these terms by ticking the box provided;
  2. you are redirected to Stripe's secure payment page;
  3. you check the order summary and enter your payment details;
  4. you confirm the order, which commits you to pay.

Stripe sends you a confirmation email and payment receipts.

Payment is made by card or by the other methods offered by Stripe. The publisher never has access to your payment details. The subscription is payable in advance, when you subscribe and then on each monthly anniversary date, by automatic charge to the saved payment method.

If a payment fails, Stripe retries the charge for a few days. If it isn't settled, the subscription ends and the Premium benefits are removed.

9. Term, renewal and cancellation

The subscription runs for one month and renews automatically every month. There is no commitment. You can cancel at any time, in a few clicks, from the Premium page (“Manage my subscription” button). You can also write to [email protected]. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid. Premium stays active until that date and no further charge is made. Apart from the right of withdrawal, the current period is not refunded.

Deleting your Pricedle account ends the subscription. Remember to cancel it first: deleting your account does not entitle you to a refund of the current period.

10. Right of withdrawal

As a consumer, you have 14 days from subscribing to withdraw, without giving any reason (articles L221-18 et seq. of the French Consumer Code).

Premium is available as soon as you pay. By ticking the box provided before payment, you expressly request that the service start before the end of this period. If you then withdraw, you are refunded the price paid, minus an amount proportional to the period already elapsed up to your request (article L221-25 of the French Consumer Code).

To withdraw, send a clear statement before the deadline to [email protected], or by mail to the address above. You may use the form below. The refund is made no later than 14 days after your request is received, using the payment method used when subscribing, and the subscription ends.

11. Conformity guarantee

As a digital service, Premium benefits from the legal guarantee of conformity under articles L224-25-12 et seq. of the French Consumer Code. If there is a defect, report it to [email protected]. The publisher restores the service within a reasonable time. Otherwise, you can obtain a price reduction or end the contract with a refund.

12. Complaints and mediation

For any complaint, first write to [email protected]. You will receive a reply as soon as possible.

If your written complaint is not resolved, you can contact a consumer mediator free of charge, within one year of that complaint. The publisher's mediator is being appointed: their details will be published on this page.

13. Personal data

How your data is processed is described in the privacy policy.

14. Changes to these terms

The publisher may change these terms. The applicable terms are those in force on the date of your use or subscription. Any change to an ongoing subscription is announced by email at least 30 days in advance. If you refuse it, you can cancel free of charge before it takes effect.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. In case of a dispute, and failing an amicable solution, the consumer may bring the matter before the court of the place where they lived at the time of subscribing or of the place where the damage occurred. Consumers residing in another country keep the benefit of the mandatory protective provisions of their national law.
